Every year, Nike designs seasonal jerseys for all 30 NBA teams that highlight a city’s cultural significance. As the NBA entered its 75th season, the jersey for the Atlanta Hawks was built around the theme of "mixtape" celebrating past, present, and future. The jersey highlights nearly five decades of Hawks' basketball with each detail giving a nod to memorable moments on the court.

I was responsible for providing Nike with historic details and colorway option for the jersey design. The process started by collecting images throughout our history and identifying significant marks to implement. Joe Johnson was the last to don the yellow jersey back in '07 and felt appropriate to make its vibrant return. Having the opportunity to work with Nike on designing the 2021-22 city edition jersey was a heartfelt experience. To me, it's a personal thank you for the city that raised me and the game that I love.
